Michael Brown

NY-based Brown’s formal training as a sculptor is evident in his work. His recent projects depict a deep indigo blue sea containing a horizon close to the middle, and a gold circle framing the center. These new works float between figuration and abstraction. An avid surfer, Brown likens his own relationship with the sea to the metaphor for longing.
