Katrina Andry

Andry, a native of New Orleans, continues to hone her mastery of reduction woodcutting. She is mining memory and history in her work, which is mostly populated by young people in seemingly beautiful settings. However, there is a subtle undercurrent. The work confronts how race and gender stereotypes are perceived and the resultant effect on communities.
